Mseilha Castle: The Mseilha Fort also known as “Puy du Connétable”a medieval fortification situated north of the city of Batroun. The current fortbuilt by Emir Fakherddine II in the 17th century to guard the route from Tripoli to Beirut. The fort built on a long, narrow limestone rock near the Nahr el-Jawz River. Its walls constructed with small sandstone blocks quarried from the nearby coast and built onto the edge of the limestone rock. The thickness of the walls ranges from 1.5 to 2 meters (4 to 6.5 feet). The larger limestone blocks are the only remains of an earlier structure probably built for the same defensive reason.
Tripoli`s Old Souk: They allow visitors to step into unique, busy and colourful universe, gain insight into centuries old traditions . Meandering through the souks with its lively passageways and small hidden alleys, plentiful smells and plethora of sounds and colour. Is like stepping into a theatre filled with fantastic characters, props and stories . Starting from the Mansouri Mosque (women need to wear a scarf and no short or revealing clothes), Tripoli’s oldest mosque. It is possible to enter the from the inner mosque courtyard. The madrassa of Prince Shehabeddin Karatay, one of the largest and most beautiful Mameluk madrassas in Tripoli.
It built between 1316-1326, will be immediately on your right . It is one of range of spectacular edifices around the old city with typical Mameluk features, such as the muqarnas. A form of architectural ornamented vaulting cut into stone and used for domes, and especially half-domes in entrances. Crusader influence seen portal in the Corinthian columns as well as the zigzag carvings in the arch above the stalactite half dome.
Lady Of Nourieh: is a Marian shrine in Hamat, Lebanon. Nourieh is a derivative of the Arabic word, nour, meaning light. Thus, in English, the Marian shrine called, Our Lady of Light . The story of Our Lady of Light shrine and monastery celebrated throughout Lebanon . A country where Christianity existed since Jesus first evangelized in Tyre and Sidon, Lebanon often considered part of “Holy Land”. Some of the first Christian communities set up in Lebanon during the time of the apostles.
Tripoli Castle:it had a main tower showing the entire Mediterranean coast from Jounieh to Tripoli. In his book Tarikh Al Azminah, the Patriarch Estephan ElDouayhi (1670–1704) explains how the main tripoli castle tower demolished: Sunday, November 25th 1630, at 3:00AM a huge earthquake hit the castle and demolished the center tower from its four corners. It demolished also all what was in the lower basement.
